About Us

Our Family

The Parigen Family is a large, loving family who experienced the tremendous loss of our intelligent, funny and sensitive son and brother at the young age of 15. Aidan was a friend to all and often showed grace to others with his beautiful smile and caring soul always making those around him feel comfortable and accepted exactly how they were. He only expected you to be yourself and that was always enough.

Our Story

Aidan was a young man who was full of life, laughter and love for his family and friends. Always armed with his quick wit and hilarious impressions all who met him quickly felt at ease with Aidan and called him their friend. Wherever Aidan went, no matter what room he walked into, it became brighter. His infectious smile and eyes that sparkled with humor, and quite frankly a ton on mischief, captivated all who met him.

On April 6, 2019 our lives were forever changed when the incomprehensible happened, we lost our beautiful boy. The boy with the big smile and twinkling eyes lost sight of his value to his family and friends and in a dark and impulsive moment forgot to show himself the grace he's shown others his whole life. While his death has been a traumatic and life altering event for all who loved him we choose to remember Aidan for the light that he was in this sometimes dark world.

Our Mission

Our mission is two fold. First we plan to honor the memory of Aidans life by awarding a college scholarship each year to one William Mason High School and one Coronado High School student where Aidan attended 9th and 10th grades. The Grace You Give Scholarship aims to identify not the smartest or highest scoring students, but rather, the student who showed grace to their classmates through friendship and humor.

Second, we plan to create an educational program  called "The Grace You Give Initiative". This program will aim to be a resource that will come to high schools around the country to teach what giving grace means and help students to build a toolbox of coping skills that can be used when they may be struggling with negative feelings.
